This is a super delicious Low Salt Chili recipe, hearty, full of flavor, and definitely worth trying if you enjoy low-salt meals.

Low Salt Chili

Last week, my husband was craving Low Salt Chili, so I did a little research since I had never made chili without salt before. I decided to use some simple vegetables we both like, such as bell peppers and onions. For the main protein, I chose ground turkey because I love how it tastes in chili.

For the low-salt ingredients, I used no-salt-added kidney beans, no-salt black beans, and no-salt diced tomatoes. Honestly, the taste was amazing, even with less salt. It still felt cozy and perfect to enjoy for dinner or lunch, especially with some Soda Bread on the side.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can (15 ounces) of no-salt-added kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) no-salt-added black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

Step 2:

Now, Add the chopped veggies to the pot with the meat. Cook it very well as well for about 5-7 minutes.

Pour in the chicken broth and a little vinegar if you use it, for this recipe I didn’t. Stir, then let the chili simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes, but keep stirring occasionally.
