Paleta Shot (Mexican Candy Shot)

Sharing is Caring 😊

I know I haven’t made many refreshing drinks this summer, but at least I can share this Paleta Shot with you. I’m sure lovers of shot drinks, especially the spicy ones, will really enjoy it.

Paleta Shot

The Paleta Shot, also known as the Mexican Candy Shot, lots of Mexican people love to make it from time to time. It’s a spicy shot thanks to Tajín seasoning. But, I used a small amount to keep it mildly spicy not too much, but you can adjust as you want of course.

The Paleta Shot is made with watermelon schnapps, silver tequila, and lime juice. While the classic version usually has the glass rimmed with Tajín, It adds a great look to the drink, But, I chose to keep it simple and didn’t rim the cup.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz watermelon schnapps
  • 1 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • A dash of hot sauce (I used Tajín)
  • Sugar (Optional for rimming the glass)
  • Ice cubes

Storing?

If you have any Paleta Shot left, put it in the fridge for up to one day. Before you drink it again, shake it. Don’t leave ice in the drink, because the ice will melt and make it taste watery.
