My dad loved andouille sausage, and from a young age, I enjoyed many dishes made with it. I was wondering which recipe to share first on my blog featuring Andouille sausage, and I decided it would be this Andouille Pasta. I love the taste, and my family enjoys it as well. The andouille sausages add the perfect flavor to the creamy pasta, making it an ideal dinner option.

The dish is easy to make at home. You’ll need good-quality andouille sausages, Cajun seasoning, and some other simple ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen. The entire process takes around an hour, but don’t worry, the cooking is so simple for everyone to follow, and the final result will for sure please you.

Also Made with diced onion, sliced red bell pepper, and garlic, this dish is both hearty and so delicious. containing a creamy sauce with that special taste of Cajun seasoning making this dish a must-try for anyone who enjoys satisfying, flavorful pasta dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (penne)
  • 1 pound andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Colander for draining pasta
  • Large skillet or sauté pan

How to Make Andouille Pasta?

Step 1:

First, cook the pasta by boiling some water in a big pot. When it’s bubbly, add the pasta and cook it until it’s just right.

Step 2:

While the pasta is cooking, In a big pan, cook the sausage until it’s a little brown, I love to cook the sausages with olive oil.

Step 3:

Now, add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the pan. Cook them until they smell good.

Step 4:

Sprinkle in some garlic and Cajun seasoning. Stir it around for a few seconds.

Step 5:

Pour in the cream and chicken soup. Let it bubble for a little while until it gets thicker.

Step 6:

Add the cooked pasta to the pan and mix everything together. Sprinkle cheese on top and stir until it’s all mixed in.

Step 7:

Taste a little bit and see if it needs salt or pepper. After that Enjoy.

Notes!

  • You can use colorful vegetables as I did to make your pasta pretty and delicious too.
  • If you don’t want the dish to be more spicy, use less Cajun seasoning or leave it out.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a little pasta water to make it just right.

Storing?

If you have extra pasta left after dinner, Put it in a special box with a tight lid and keep it in the fridge. You can eat it again in the next 2 days. When you want to eat it, warm it up by using the microwave. If the pasta looks a bit dry, add a tiny bit of milk to make it creamy again.

I love serving this Andouille Pasta with cauliflower bites for a bit of crunch, Also the dish can be enjoyed with Garlic bread or warm dinner rolls that are perfect for soaking up the creamy sauce. Also, Roasted vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts or carrots can be good sides with this Andouille Pasta. For the drinks I prefer with this dish, I always opt for a cold glass of Azulito Drink, or sometimes sparkling water or even iced tea that provides a great taste to the dish.
