  • 1 3/4 cup (200g) powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or 1 vanilla bean, scraped
  • Pinch of salt

How to Make Vanilla Bean Macaron?

Step 1:

First, Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Put parchment paper on two baking sheets.

Step 2:

In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar very well.

Step 3:

In a bowl, beat egg whites. Add sugar slowly, and keep beating until it holds its shape.

Step 4:

Gently mix the dry stuff into the egg whites. Add vanilla. Mix carefully so it’s smooth.

Step 5:

Put the batter in a piping bag and make small circles on the baking sheets. Tap the sheets to get rid of air bubbles.

Step 6:

Leave the macarons to sit for 30 to 60 minutes until they are not sticky anymore.

Step 7:

Now, Bake the macarons for 15 to 18 minutes. They should be firm outside but soft inside. Let them cool before taking them off the sheets.

Step 8:

Match the macarons and fill them with your favorite filling, I fill them with vanilla buttercream. Gently press them together.

When you’re ready to eat them, just let them sit out for about 20 minutes to get soft again. Don’t heat them up; they taste best when they’re just at room temperature.
