Bazooka Shot
I know the first impression you have on your face right now. Yes, my Bazooka Shot is not like the classic one, it’s different but delicious.
I made this Bazooka Shot in a creative way, I used grenadine, blue curaçao for the blue color, and pineapple juice instead of vodka. This created three beautiful layers, red, yellow, and blue, which make the drink look stunning and perfect for pictures.
I’ve seen some Bazooka Shot recipes where bloggers use Irish cream liqueur. My version is completely different, So, if you’re looking for a new style of Bazooka Shot to make at home, try mine and let me know how it turns out.
What is a Bazooka Shot?
The Bazooka Shot is a drink inspired by the sweet nostalgia of Bazooka Joe bubble gum. I made it with grenadine, blue curaçao, and a mix of pineapple juice and vodka (or soda for a light version). The colorful layers make this version of Bazooka Joe look so beautiful, making it as fun to see as it is to taste. Sweet, fruity, and tropical, it’s perfect for parties, pictures, and impressing your friends with a creative and delicious nice-looking shot.
Ingredients
- 1/2 oz grenadine
- 1/2 oz blue curaçao
- 1/2 oz pineapple juice
- 1/2 oz vodka (optional for a non-alcoholic version, substitute with lemon-lime soda)
- Ice
How to Make Bazooka Shot?
Step 1:
Take a small glass and make sure it’s clean and dry. Pour the red grenadine into the glass first. It’s heavy, so it will sit at the bottom.
Step 2:
Now, Use the back of a spoon to pour the blue curaçao on top of the red layer. This makes a blue layer.
Step 3:
In a little cup, mix the yellow pineapple juice with vodka (or soda if you want).
Step 4:
Pour the yellow juice mix over the blue layer using the back of a spoon to keep the layers separate. Enjoy.
Kitchen Equipment Needed
- Shot glass
- Measuring spoons or shot jigger
- Small mixing cup
- Spoon (preferably with a flat back for layering)
Great Tips!
- I think everyone knows this tip: Keep all your ingredients in the fridge before you start. Cold liquids make it easier to pour slowly and prevent the layers from mixing.
- Make sure to Pour each layer slowly. Rushing can cause the colors to mix together and ruin the layered look.
- I love to use the back of a spoon to slow down the pour.
- You can try swapping grenadine or blue curaçao with other syrups or juices in different colors.
How to Store Leftovers?
If you have extra ingredients, put them back in their bottles and keep them in the fridge. You can’t save the Bazooka Shot once it’s made because the colors will mix. Make a new one each time for the best look and taste.
What to Pair with the Bazooka Shot?
This Bazooka Shot can be paired wonderfully with a slice of Joy’s Banana Bread for a cozy, sweet pairing, or crispy coconut shrimp for a tropical touch. Also, you can have it with some Fresh fruit skewers, like pineapple and strawberries, Also salty snacks like pretzels or popcorn provide a nice flavor besides the shot. And of course, mini chocolate brownies or macarons will be good too.
